EndNote X8

EndNote is a computer program which can help with referencing and intext citations for your studies.

Importing from the Library Catalogue

Perform a search in the LIbrary Catalogue. Choose from the list the books you wish to export to EndNote and tick the checkboxes on the left of each record.

On the toolbar at the top right click on My Favourites. This brings up a list of the books you have selected. Tick the checkboxes again to select them. From the 'Select How to Save' dropdown box on the top right, select Push to EndNote.  Click on 'Go.'

Import to citation manager window appears.  It should default to UTF-8. Click on ‘OK’

Opening Primo_RIS_Export.ris window appears. Either leave it on the default ResearchSoft Direct Export Helper or browse ‘open with’ and select Endnote X8. Click ‘OK’

EndNote will open if not already open.

A pop-up box will appear asking you to choose which Import Filter you require. Scroll down the list and choose RefMan RIS.

Your records should now import into your EndNote library. Check that the records have imported in the correct format (some may need a little adjustment) before returning to All References.
