Your appointment

Congratulations! You have booked a meeting with one of the services supporting your learning.   

You will have received an email confirming the appointment.  It includes who the meeting is with, the time and date of the meeting and where the meeting will be held. 

For more detailed instructions on where to meet your advisor, select the main location of your booking (Te Puna, Waitākere, Online support).  If in doubt, then please check in at the Ask Me Desk.

At the bottom of the email is a link you can use to cancel the appointment if you no longer need to meet up with the support service.   

Te Puna - Level 1

The Ask Me Desk is located behind Long Black Cafe in the centre of Te Puna (B180).  

Check in on the ipad at the desk, with your student ID, name, and time of your appointment.  Wait there for your support person to come and meet you. 

This is the best location to meet

Maia Māori Centre (Room 180-1001) is located near the entrance to Te Puna (B180) opposite the Pacific Centre.  

You can go straight to Maia and meet your learning advisor there.


The Pacific Centre (Room 180-1101) is located at the entrance to Te Puna opposite the Maia Māori Centre

You can go straight to the Pacific Centre and meet your learning advisor there.

Note that the number of the room has changed, but NOT the location.  (Room 180-1101 - previously 110-1040) 


Student Central is located near the entrance to Te Puna (B180) just past the Maia Māori Centre.

Te Puna - Level 2

The koru pod is located on Level 2 of Te Puna.  Go up the stairs near Breaktime, and turn left at the first level up.

Look for the large wooden koru pod outside room 180-2060.  Check in on the ipad located beside the koru pod, with your student ID, name, and time of your appointment, and submit.  Wait there for your support person to come and meet you.

The Student Services Waiting Area is located on Level 2 of Te Puna.  Go up the stairs near Breaktime, and turn right at the first level up.

Check in on the ipad at the door to room 180-2020, with your student ID, name, and time of your appointment, and submit.  Wait there for your support person to come and meet you.

Waitākere campus

The library space in level 3 of building 520 can be accessed by an air bridge across from B510 at level 3.  This is the best place to meet 

  • Subject Librarians
  • Learning Advisors 

Come to  the library desk and you will be directed to your meeting point.

 

Student Central (B510) is the meeting point for

  • Student Support advisors and
  • the Career Development team.  

You will be directed to the exact location from here.

 

Phone appointment

The advisor will call you at the time of your booking using the phone number you provided.

Please make sure you are in a quiet location.

Online appointment

Your appointment is being provided by email or phone or through some other platform, such as Skype or Zoom.

Please make sure that you are in a quiet, private space during our meeting. 

Zoom is the software that Unitec is using to run meetings online.

  1. You will receive an appointment confirmation email from the advisor with a link to the Zoom meeting. 
  2. Click on the link in this email.  You can sign into the meeting up to 10 minutes before the Zoom meeting  time.  This will give you time to get organized, and make sure everything is working.
  3. You may be asked to download a Zoom App or open Zoom in a browser (Chrome and Firefox both work well).  Follow the instructions on the screen.
  4. Sign in with your name, so the advisor knows you have arrived.
