Grammarly

Information on Grammarly for students at Unitec

How does Grammarly work?

Grammarly works by scanning your writing and providing editing suggestions, feedback and support to improve your writing skills using a complex AI.

In the newest update of Grammarly, instead of using add-ins within Microsoft Office, it now travels across your device with a small popup identifier that looks like this:

And when it identifies potential changes to your writing, the icon will shift to reflect this as shown here:

It will also advise you of the tone of your writing as well through use of an emoji in the identifier:

Just some of the tones it identifies are as shown here:

You can customise this to only work in separate windows or software and change the settings to suit your preferences.

What versions are available?

Grammarly has five different versions available. These are:

  • Grammarly for Windows

  • Grammarly for Mac

  • Grammarly for Microsoft Edge

  • Grammarly for iPhone and iPad

  • Grammarly for Android

Your premium account provided by Unitec enables you to use any of these as required.
