There are many services provided by trained staff which aim to support students during your time at Unitec.  A full list of these services is available on the Unitec Current Students site.  See both website pages: Study support for Students and Services and Facilities. Students can book their own appointment with library and student services staff, a group study room or a place in a workshop.

On this page, you are able to make your own bookings by clicking on the link to the service below or your can contact the Ask Me desk in Te Puna or Waitākere library. There are other links here that can help direct you to other support areas.

Disability Services

Access4Success offers study support and services to suit students with a range of disabilities or injuries. No self-bookings availabile.

Learning Advisors

Our Learning Advisors are here to provide free support and advice to help you succeed in your academic studies and are available across both campuses.

Maths and Science Support

Māori Support

We offer support services for all students including cultural support, pastoral guidance and Māori community development.

Pacific Centre

Can assist Pacific students seeking: •  Course information •  Pastoral Support •  Financial Support • Scholarship Advice
The Pacific Centre also: • Runs Pacific Orientation •  Pacific Fanau Evenings •    Has spaces for study or to hang out with  other students.

Subject Librarians

Our Subject Librarians are professionally qualified librarians, focusing on information literacy teaching, resource acquisition and research support.

Scholarships and Mentoring

Information about scholarships is available for students and staff.

Student Support

Support students through anything that impacts on their study experience, including StudyLink application support, accessing support for financial hardship & basic budgeting advice, informal complaints, support for students living at Campus Waterview student accommodation. By Appointment Only

Ask Me and Student Central

The Ask Me desk is located opposite the koru pod.  If you need help, ask the staff here who will direct you to who you may need to see. 

Student Central (Te Pae Kōrero) is your one-stop shop for help on campus, where you can ask us anything.

International team

Help with visa or insurance support, choosing or changing your course or study programme, connect you with events and each other.

Admissions and Enrolment

Wellness (Te Puna Waiora)

The Wellness Centre offers a range of free or very low-cost care for a range of mental health concerns. A free, confidential counselling service that can help with personal issues which may be impacting students' studies and/or life.

Appointments made through Te Puna Waiora directly.

Wellbeing Promoter

Support is offered to Unitec students who would like to improve their wellbeing.

Student Advocate

The Student Advocate is here to provide you with advice and guidance if you are experiencing issues that are impacting your studies.

Career Consultants

For a range of services to students, such as career planning, job hunting, interview tips and employment opportunities.

Book a Student Group Study Room

Students can book a study for group study in the following locations.

Students must use your full @myunitec.ac.nz email address as the username for example smithj04@myunitec.ac.nz and use your usual Unitec password.

The room booking system will send a confirmation email to your myunitec email address. The email also contains instructions for cancelling your booking.
