Te Puna (Building 180) Student Hub

Te Puna in Building 180 is the hub of student services on Unitec's Mt Albert campus.

Location of Te Puna services

Level 0 (Basement) (See Level 0 floorplan)

Level 1 (See Level 1 floorplan)

  • Student Central for all student enrolment enquiries, including StudyLink, and cashier
  • Maia Māori Centre - dedicated space for Māori tauira to study, use the computers, and from time to time enjoy some shared kai (food)
  • Pacific Centre - dedicated space for Pacific students to be social or to pull out your books and comfortably bury yourself in your studies.
  • Access4Success drop-in space for support of disabled learners.
  • Ask Me desk for general enquiries, directions, Library services, tech help &  making booking for various student services
  • Check-in for pre-booked appointments with Subject Librarians and International student enrolments team
  • Printing / copying / scanning machines and autoloader to add money to your ID card
  • Library self-service kiosks for lending library items (also on levels 2 & 3)
  • Student group study rooms that you can book
  • Food retailers, including Long Black cafe, Breaktime convenience store, Sushi and Donburi
  • Student kitchen with hot water and microwaves

Important locations on this level are divided into 4 main areas

  1. Student Success teams. Koru pod meeting place (by Room 180-2060) for appointments booked with the following teams. Let staff know you have arrived by checking in on the ipad near the pod.

  1. Library Resources (Dewey range 370 to 719) and study areas. Also includes computers, printer/scanner/copier and self-service library kiosk.  
  2. Classrooms - 180-2043 to 180-2048

  • 16 computers (8 computers with DVD drives)
  • Library Resources (Dewey range 720 to 999) and study areas, and self-service kiosks for lending library items (also on levels 1 & 2)

Te Puna (Building 180)

Te Puna is the central student hub at the Mt Albert Campus (south end).

It brings together many of the services that students will use during their time at Unitec, from enrolment at Student Central, student study support (at Student Learning and Achievement), library services and medical clinic (Te Puna Waiora).  Ask staff at the Ask Me desk about any of these services and how to contact them.  

Building 180 is open to Unitec students and staff each day.  The operating hours of the services within the building may vary from this.

Quiet study spaces

Quiet study areas are on level 3 - enter on the north side of the building near the main stairwell

Koru pod meeting place

For appointments booked with Learning Advisors and Career Consultants, come up to the koru pod meeting place on Level 2.  Let staff know you have arrived by checking in on the ipad near the pod. 

Student group Study Rooms

Several group study rooms are located in Te Puna for student use. To book a room students will use the Group Study Room Booking System. Access the booking system via the Student Portal under 'Useful Links' or via the library website home page under 'Key Resources').
