The Mt Albert and Waitākere campuses each have a library accessible to all Unitec students and staff.

Resources held at each library relate to the subjects taught at each location.  Each branch has staff available who can assist with any questions that you may have about using the library, library resources and the library space.

Our Collection

We have over 249,000 books, either in print or online, and 165 print journal titles. In addition, there are over 85 research databases providing access to approximately 91,000 online journal titles. You can access the library catalogue and online resources both on and off-campus. Access to electronic resources is restricted to staff and students of Unitec.  More about our collections

Other services that are available

• Course short loan collection
  Resources that have been identified by lecturers as course essential, and in high demand, are held at the library desk. These items can be borrowed to a shorter time, to allow other students access to this limited resource.
• Study spaces
  Both libraries provide a range of study spaces. As well as the traditional library spaces we also provide several learning spaces for students which contain computers for student use.
• Study Group Study Rooms
  Both libraries have student group study rooms. Students can book a room for use during the hours that the library space is open. Whiteboard markers are available for the Ask Me desk when it is staffed.
• Printing, copying and scanning
  Printing and copying is available in both library branches, using your student ID card. Scanning is possible using the MDFs. You are able to add money to your student ID card using an autoloader, located in both branches.
• Wifi
  Wifi is available in all library spaces, by login into the Unitec-Elearn with your Unitec login
