Students and staff from Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) and Unitec may borrow library materials from each other's collections. This service allows students and staff from both polytechnics to borrow from a far greater range of material, under a reciprocal borrowing agreement.
Borrowing from other libraries is a privilege. By requesting this service, you are indicating your willingness to abide by the rules and borrowing policies of the library that is providing this service.

For Unitec students and staff
- To begin borrowing from MIT, fill in the online enrolment form. You will receive an email when your enrolment has been completed.
- Each time you borrow material from MIT, you must present your Unitec ID card.
- Borrowing is limited to items available on the shelves.
- You are bound by the MIT library borrowing policies.
- All items must be returned to the MIT library from which it was borrowed.

- NOTE: Borrowing applies to the MIT Manukau and Ōtara Campus libraries. It does not apply to the Maritime Library.
For MIT students and staff

- Each time you borrow material from a Unitec library, you must present your MIT ID card.
- Borrowing is limited to items available on the shelves.
- You are bound by the Unitec library borrowing policies.
- All items can be returned to any of the Unitec libraries.
- NOTE: All items you have on loan from Unitec are subject to a recall request at any time by another Library member. You will receive an email with the new due date. If the item is not returned by the new due date, a large fine will be incurred.
