GenAI
Unitec staff and students may use AI Technologies with limited portions of the electronic journals within this database in Unitec's secure network environment, for their own non-commercial research or academic teaching purposes.
However the following activities are not permitted:
1. systematic download of content;
2. adversely disrupting the functionality of the database;
3. the creation of a competing or commercial product or service;
4. or the creation of derivative works or generating substantially similar output, for use by a Third Party (i.e., neither Unitec nor a Unitec staff member or student);
5. distributing or reproducing the electronic journals to a Third Party, except as solely needed to use the AI Technologies for the purpose allowed above;
6. publicly displaying or publicly performing, or making available to the public the electronic journals or any part thereof to, for, or with a Third party
7. retention of the electronic journals or any residual portion by a Third party;
8. training, testing, or evaluating the AI Technologies; or
9. violation of intellectual property, privacy, personal, moral, or attribution rights of a Third party.
The above restrictions do not apply to electronic Journals or materials made available under a CC-BY license, for which the terms of the license apply.
